City of Tracy Announces New Sprouts Farmers Market Coming to Ellis Village Center

Post Date:05/30/2025 11:00 AM

Tracy, CA — The City of Tracy is excited to announce that Sprouts Farmers Market, a leading national grocery chain known for fresh, natural, and organic products, will be opening a new location at Ellis Village Center. This was made official at the May 28, Director’s Hearing—an important step in the City’s planning process, when staff approved plans. Construction for the highly anticipated store is set to begin in Fall 2025.

Located in the heart of Tracy’s growing west side, the Ellis Village Center development is set to become a vibrant commercial and community hub. The addition of Sprouts represents a major milestone in the City’s ongoing efforts to attract quality retail and enhance the quality of life for Tracy residents.

“We are excited to announce that Sprouts Farmers Market is coming to the City of Tracy!” said Dan Arriola, Mayor of Tracy. “Bringing Sprouts to our community is a direct response to the demands we've heard from residents for additional grocery options, especially in the southern part of our city. This new store marks another important step in the growth and development of the Ellis neighborhood. We look forward to seeing construction begin later this year.”

“Our focus continues to be on thoughtful development that meets the needs of our growing community,” said Midori Lichtwardt, City Manager of Tracy. “We’re proud to support a project that brings both economic opportunity and enhanced amenities to our residents.”

Sprouts Farmers Market is known for its wide selection of fresh produce, responsibly sourced meats and seafood, bulk foods, vitamins and supplements, and natural household products.

In addition to Sprouts, the center is expected to feature a mix of retail, dining, and service-oriented businesses.

Further updates on construction timelines and grand opening dates will be provided as the project progresses.
