The Building Safety and Fire Prevention Division is dedicated to improving the safety of the residents of Tracy through our professional and technical services.

Our mission is to increase protection from life threatening hazards and to reduce the risk of property loss and most importantly the loss of life for all our residents.

We save lives every day and preserve your investment through the implementation of building and fire codes. The personnel in our division are unsung heroes as most people are unaware of the obligation we have for the community. We are a family of professionals, dedicated to excellence in meeting our mission. Safety cannot be expected in buildings where the standards have not been enforced. Always remember that the safety of a building does not happen automatically. It’s the comprehensive and caring effort of people with many years of experience that promote the vibrancy and welfare of our city through the detailed application of building standards. We are here to ensure that all remodeling and improvement projects and newly constructed buildings are safe places in which to live, work and play.
