Post Date:08/21/2025 7:47 PM

Tracy, Calif. – The City of Tracy proudly announces the grand opening of Daniel Ray Schack Park, a new 5.7-acre neighborhood park in the Tracy Hills community. Named in honor of long-time resident and community leader Daniel Ray Schack, the park reflects both his passion for people and his lifelong dedication to making Tracy a better place to live.

Daniel Ray Schack has devoted decades to improving the lives of Tracy residents. As the founder of Schack & Company, he combined professional excellence with a deep commitment to service. Beyond his career, Schack spearheaded impactful programs such as the Glover/Schack Flu Shot Clinics, the Paws 4 Friends Pet Therapy Program, and Good Samaritan Community Services. He was also a founding president of the Tracy City Center Association and an active supporter of the Tracy Friends for Parks, Recreation, & Community Services Foundation. His leadership and generosity have earned him numerous recognitions, including Citizen of the Year and the From the Heart Award.

“Mr. Schack's dedication and commitment have touched generations of Tracy families,” said Mayor Dan Arriola. “This park is a tribute to his extraordinary contributions and will stand as a place where neighbors gather, children play, and community thrives—just as he has always envisioned for Tracy.”

The newly opened park offers a wide variety of amenities designed for residents of all ages. Features include:

  • Age-specific playgrounds for children 2–5 and 5–12

  • A multi-purpose turf field with backstop for youth baseball and softball

  • A combined tennis and pickleball court

  • A spacious dog park with areas for large and small dogs

  • Two shaded picnic areas with BBQ grills

  • A looping walking path with lighting and a connecting decomposed granite trail to Tracy Hills open space

  • Landscaping designed to support native species and pollinators

Daniel Ray Schack Park officially opened to the public on July 11, 2025, and is already becoming a popular destination for families, recreational players, and outdoor enthusiasts.

The City of Tracy extends its gratitude to all staff, partners, and community members who helped bring this project to life.
