Brian MacDonaldBrian MacDonald began his career in local government in 2004 when he was hired as an Eligibility Worker for the County of San Joaquin. He brings with him an extensive background in budget administration, community outreach, facilities management, public policy, project management and parks programming. In his previous assignments, he was responsible for managing the Legacy Fields Sports Complex project, in which he developed partnerships with local youth sports groups and oversaw the construction of Phase 1B. He has also collaborated with non-profits, community based organizations and other agencies to deliver activities and programs to the City. In his most recent experience, he oversaw the financing and administrative operations of the City’s Landscape Maintenance District.

Mr. MacDonald holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Stanislaus State University. He lives in Tracy with his wife, Stephanie and their two children. He is active in the community through coaching youth sports. His hobbies are coaching, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Mr. MacDonald began his duties as the Parks & Recreation Director on December 16, 2017.
