It is also important to be cautious with stoves, space heaters and fireplaces. Many house fires are caused by these devices because they are left unattended. Code Requirements for Fire Safety During Construction and Demolition

The California Fire Code Chapter 33, “Fire Safety During Construction and Demolition,” prescribes minimum safeguards that shall apply to buildings of all types undergoing construction, alteration, or demolition. These buildings are more susceptible to fire and are at a greater risk to the effects of fire. Construction projects often find multiple ignition sources in heaters, asphalt kettles, torchDemolition cutting, welding, and brazing operations, to name a few. Concentrations of combustible materials, incomplete compartmentalization or passive protection, and unfinished fire protection systems will allow fire to spread unimpeded.
