There are certain development permit applications that can be reviewed at the staff (i.e., Director) level. In these cases, the Director of Development Services has the final approval authority, unless an appeal is filed. The Municipal Code describes the criteria on which the approval authority level is based (i.e., the factors that determine whether a development permit application will be heard at the Director level, or at the Planning Commission and/or City Council levels).
